Lexi Webster (they/she) is the Communications Assistant for the Center for Constitutional Rights. They support the Communications team with drafting and distributing newsletters, social media engagement, and promoting thought leadership within CCR. Prior to coming to the Center for Constitutional Rights, they were based in Tokyo, Japan where they were a member of an international team of writers and product developers designing and developing English language-learning curriculum. While in Japan, they worked with a non-profit to provide young Black American scholars, who are underrepresented in abroad programs, with developmental opportunities in Japan. Through this non-profit, they also helped to plan and promote local programming, including the only Black Lives Matter marches in Japan, and the Tokyo candlelight vigils in the wake of the Charleston shooting. Outside of their work at the Center for Constitutional Rights, they are a Brooklyn-based portrait, beauty, and fashion photographer.
